To prepare for your first NDIS application, it is important to think about your goals and what you want to achieve with your NDIS funding. The NDIS are very focused on your goals when they are making their decisions around your new plan. As your goals outline the outcomes, the NDIS looks at this when considering what services and supports that you require to achieve these goals.

Don’t limit yourself here! Let your imagination run wild with what you hope to achieve! Some things to brain storm and think about whilst your taking this first step are:
What is your daily routine now? What do you like about it? What needs to be improved? What do you need support with? What do you need to increase your independence?
What activities are you currently engaged in? Do you want to change them? Add to them? If so, what do you want to do if you had the support and resources to do it? What are you passionate about? What do you love doing?
How are your living arrangements? Do you like them or want to change them?
Do you need support from Professionals? Wellness coaching? Help with diet, exercise? What is your current view on the food you are eating?
Do you want to engage with the community? Do you want to work? Learn a new skill?
What support do you currently get from other people around you?
Writing your dream list and possibly engaging your friends and family, to help get behind you as a Participant, is essential to preparing for your first NDIS application.
